Message What an awesome run! We (Z1 Motorsports and friends) spent about 4 hours today tooling through the mountains of northern GA (Halo, you know the ones =) and they have done some nice roadwork since two years ago. Wonderful winding roads that are appreciably banked and a set of twinturbos, Nitto555 285/35/18R, Yokahama ES100 255/35/17F, KYB AGX F4, R6, suspension techniques sway bars (front stiff, rear mid-position) and a full tank of premium fuel - words cant even describe the exhiliration! Its been some time since I have driven my car in such windy roads and it always amazes me how awesome these cars really are. We even came across an NSX and he was on it, but I just had to wax his ass. A miata also got into the game and I had a good rush passing him on a curve on the outside lane.

One of the neat things about doing this sort of stuff is after about 20-30 minutes of driving, you get into a zone - like a state of mind where you and the car are one. You expect it to behave exactly as it does and you know its strong points as well as its limits.. Then its just you against the road and its great competition. =)

I'm even more impressed with the new brake setup. There are notable advantages with these crossdrilled and slotted rotors - it simply bites in much harder, but I'm sure that also has a lot to do with the pads as well. I beat them to heck and back today and they performed beautifully without yield. I let a few of the guys who went with us drive my car so they could check out the brakes and they were all amazed.

We (Z1 Motorsports) have been talking about planning Z rides once a month or so with open invitations for those that want to really get into some open road, spirited curvies to see just how fun these cars can be in the right situation. I'm sure the fellows that went today will be sharing their experience as well.

Aight, I'm off - I have an adrenaline hangover.
